Axis Construction
who we are
Every successful company begins with a problem that demands a solution. Ours started with a simple question: Why is remodeling so broken? Why do homeowners dread a process that should be exciting? Why are budget overruns, schedule delays, and poor communication accepted as inevitable? We couldn't find good answersâonly excuses.
So we built Axis Construction to be different. Not just incrementally better, but fundamentally transformed. We created a collaborative process that plans everything before construction begins. We established systems for transparent communication and realistic budgeting. We hired team members who share our commitment to doing it right, every time. Today, we're proving that remodeling doesn't have to be the nightmare experience so many have endured. It can be seamless, fulfilling, and even fun. We're reinventing the remodelâand we'd love to show you how.
Our Mission
is to delight and serve our clients by guiding them through a collaborative and transparent process to design, build, and remodel their homes and businesses. We are the antidote to the typical remodeling experience where budget surprises, schedule delays, underwhelming quality, and poor communication are the norm and disappointment is tolerated. We exist to transform the remodeling industry by elevating the standards for clarity, communication, and execution.
We are REINVENTING THE REMODEL.

The Antidote to the Typical Remodeling Experience
Axis Construction helps you avoid regret by eliminating the budget surprises, schedule delays, and poor communication that plague typical remodels. Through our collaborative 5-Step Development Process, we deliver clarity, transparency, and execution excellenceâtransforming what's usually a stressful ordeal into a delightful experience that exceeds expectations.
We are a fundamentally different solution to an industry-wide problem.
We are Reinventing The Remodel.
- Reinventing the Remodelexpand_more
- We refuse to accept that disappointment is normal in remodeling. Budget surprises, endless delays, poor communication, and underwhelming quality have become so common that homeowners expect frustration instead of excitement. That's not rightâand we exist to change it. Axis Construction was founded on a simple but radical idea: remodeling should be transparent, collaborative, and delightful. Through our proven 5-Step Development Process, we guide clients from vision to reality with clarity at every step. No surprises. No excuses. Just exceptional craftsmanship delivered exactly as promised. We're not just building beautiful spacesâwe're transforming an entire industry, one project at a time. This is what it means to reinvent the remodel.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Jeremy Steinruck
Founder and owner since 2007, Jeremy drives the vision of Axis Construction. He also leads sales and marketing with a genuine passion for people. He loves getting to know prospective clients, their families, and the stories behind their homes â because great remodeling starts with understanding what matters most to the customer.
Favorite design trend: Anything that bends the rules but adds meaningful personalization.
If I could spend one day with my hero: Iâd go fly fishing with Jesus in Colorado â Iâd ask Him for some pointers!
Best vacation ever: Fly fishing in Patagonia with some amazing friends ⊠and I love any time my wife and I get to the beach or the mountains ⊠or any trip where all my family is together. Honestly, all vacations are great.
Guilty pleasure: Anything chocolate or loaded with gluten and carbohydrates.
An example of unreasonable hospitality: Our GM, Shelly Wood, is the model for unreasonable hospitality. She sees the world through the eyes of our team members and creates the ideal environment for us to do outstanding work for all our clients.
Credentials: NARI Certified Remodeler, 2021 Remodelerâs Advantage IMPACT Award Winner, Midwestern State University Menâs Soccer Alumnus, 2000 BA Midwestern State University, 2005 MA Wayland Baptist University
Shelly Wood
Shelly serves as General Manager at Axis Construction, where she focuses on building the systems, processes, and accountability that keep the business running smoothly. She works across every department to create clarity, remove obstacles, and help ensure the right people have the tools and support they need to succeed. Passionate about continuous improvement, she believes that when people are empowered to do their best work, the entire organization becomes stronger â for its team, its clients, and its community. When not at work, you can find her doing 101 million different things â usually with family â anything from horses, sports events, race karting, and more. She and her family believe in living life to its fullest and embracing every opportunity that comes their way.
Favorite design trend: Minimal design, hands down â because I know what it takes to make something look simple â itâs not easy and quite complex. Simple is the hardest thing to build.
If I could spend one day with my hero: I don't really think in terms of âheroesâ â I admire specific people for specific things, not as a whole. But if I had to pick one day with someone, I think I'd pick my kids, twenty years from now. I'd want to sit with who they've become and see how the world shaped them differently than it shaped me.
Best vacation: Barcelona, Spain
Guilty pleasure: A good Americano with heavy cream
An example of unreasonable hospitality would be: Building structure people didn't know they needed. When I brought clarity and accountability to Axis it wasn't about control â it was about giving people clarity on what they were actually working toward. That's usually the thing standing between someone and doing more than they thought they could.
Another is being able to pause and look at situations from multiple angles. Understanding that this team is trying to accomplish goals and each one of us experiences things and challenge from different perspectives. To take a pause and recognize how others view situations can be a helpful thing in working towards a solve on an issue, a process or just general momentum forward in work and in life. Taking the pause to understand how others think is an example of unreasonable hospitality.

Chelsea has been in residential and commercial construction industries for 15 years. She carries a passion for all aspects of the residential build process and watching dreams come to reality. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her husband and child, and participating in their churchâs activities.
Favorite design trend: Narrow wet room (bathtub in shower)
If I could spend one day with my hero: I already spend every day with my hero Jesus, but to actually see Him in person and gain insights into how to be more like Him would be great!
Best vacation ever: My off-grid mountain cabin, because itâs the best way to get away from everyday busyness and stress.
Guilty pleasure: Napping
An example of unreasonable hospitality would be: Our commitment to focusing on the entire client experience vs. carrying out the rudimentary steps to completing the remodel/build.

Andrew Meaders

Known as âthe youngest Old Man youâll meet,â his main focus in the Construction Department is maintaining the behind-the-scenes requirements for ongoing projects. From start to finish, he keeps budgets, schedules, and communication flowing smoothly between office and field.
Favorite design trend: Prefer timeless design over trendy ones
If I could spend one day with my hero: Well, as Matthew McConaughey once said, his future self in 10 years is his hero ⊠so Iâd like to spend a day with myself ten years in the future and see what Iâve accomplished!
Best vacation ever: The next one planned.
Guilty pleasure: Watching hour upon hour of This Old House
An example of unreasonable hospitality would be: Small gestures that have big impacts
Credentials/Associations: NARI Certified, OSHA 10 hour, Mavericks, Redneck Culinary
Alfredo Pacheco
Alfredo is a bicultural native to Wichita Falls. He brings infectious energy and a perpetual smile to Team Axis. He keeps the âold folksâ in the office on their toes with his playful humor. He also helps guide clients through design, estimations, selections, and project development. He enjoys turning clients' ideas into functional, thoughtfully designed spaces through careful planning, collaboration, and realistic renderings.
Favorite design trend: Warm modern designâclean lines, natural materials, and timeless finishes that feel inviting rather than overly trendy.
If I could spend one day with my hero: It would be anyone who has made a lasting impact in their field, in order to learn from their experiences, gain new perspectives, and hear the lessons behind their success.
Best vacation: A trip my wife and I took to Europe. In two weeks, we traveled to five cities - Paris, Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Madrid.
Guilty pleasure: Finding excuses to buy new tools.
An example of unreasonable hospitality would be: Anticipating a clientâs needs before they have to ask.

Our Story
Axis Construction was founded by Jeff Miller and Jeremy Steinruck, whose partnership began while working together for a former employer. Jeff brought hands-on leadership as a site superintendent, while Jeremy managed project details from the office. Their complementary skills laid the groundwork for a strong collaboration. In 2007, they drafted a business plan and launched Miller & Steinruck, Inc.âthe corporation now doing business as Axis Construction.
Launching a construction business in 2007 meant navigating the challenges of a shifting economy and an evolving building industry. Those early years tested their resilience and shaped the companyâs DNA: a commitment to hard work, humility, and service.
By 2017, it became clear that the companyâs growth required dedicated back-office operations. What began as late nights of paperwork transformed into a structured and efficient office team.
In 2018, Axis Construction embraced digital design, recognizing it as essential for precision and client collaboration. By 2020, we welcomed a full-time design professional and refined our pre-construction process to prioritize transparency, clarity, and realistic planning from the start.
In 2025, Jeremy Steinruck became the sole owner of Axis Construction. Today, Axis stands as a reflection of our grit and growth. Every project we undertake is guided by our core values, with one goal in mind: to deliver an exceptional experience for every client.
