Hickory Downs Outdoor Project

This project included the addition of a stand-alone outdoor entertainment area complete with dressing and restrooms as well as a partial outdoor kitchen.  We also constructed a potting shed and extended the patio cover for more covered entertaining space attached to the rear of the home.

The centerpiece of the project is the timber frame open air living room.  Complete with wood burning stone fireplace, television and seating area, this space is the perfect retreat any time of year.  The kitchen area features commercial grade stainless steel drawer bases with stone surround and granite counter tops.  The door to the restroom/dressing area is hidden around the corner.  This has restroom amenities as well as room for changing and storage.

The patio addition was key to coordinating the spaces outdoors.  It was specifically designed to reflect the design and style of the existing home while assisting in transitioning to the style and design of the outdoor structures.  Scale, materials and roof pitch were helpful in achieving these goals.

The quaint potting shed was a special request of the owner.  It has a concealed double-door entry for storing large items storage, a shaded outdoor working counter space, and interior storage and workspaces in a unique and beautiful package.

The project was performed in coordination with a pool and masonry contractor who also played a large role in the design process.
